At the edge of the natural region of Puisaye-Forterre, the small village of Saints-en-Puisaye takes place in the Yonne, about forty kilometers from the city of Auxerre. Green and agricultural, it is also close to Saint-Fargeau, Thury or Sainpuits.
The story of Saints-en-Puisaye was strongly marked by the destiny of Saint Prix, a Christian martyr massacred around the year 274 by the Roman emperor Aurélien. His headless body was found two centuries later, and a monastery was erected to celebrate his memory. Today mainly focused on agriculture, the village also offers a great tourist activity, unveiling to visitors passing through the region a very interesting architectural and historical heritage, as well as many entertainment throughout the year.
