It is an ancient walled barn, situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the gorges of the Cagne.

From the village, take the route of Baou Saint-Jeannet. Arriving on set, go straight instead of turning left towards the summit.

Cross to the west this vast space, once entirely crafted by man, slightly downhill to reach the valley of Castellet and the promontory where stand the ruins of the old barn, with an exceptional view.

Then the descent to the boot Cagne by a path that winds throughout the cliff, then runs along the valley of Castellet before it easier to walk on the left bank in the foothills of Bau. It joins the locality "the Sources", where a few large blocks detached from the wall equipped for climbing initiation.

Finally remount the village by a wide stony path to the small chapel of Notre-Dame des Champs, and cross the village through the narrow streets to find the departure of parking.

Access

From the parking René Veyssi, head of the village, continue straight through the St. Barbara Street, and join the wash. Step on the square and take the street Verger du Baou.

You are at the beginning of the main trail leading you to hiking.

Itinerary

From the b2 tag, start the climb and take the GR51 left (b3), continue to the plateau. Continue west to reach the valley of Castellet and the promontory where the ruins of the old barn will rise.

After crossing the Combe, the trail enters a forest of oaks. By the b7 tag, you leave the GR51 in south leader. Are you sheep Castellet.

"This building, called the Castellet, never served to the farm use and fold [...]. This property, today communal party, was a baronial fief. It already appears that character in various documents thirteenth century... "J.-E. If you walk along the ruins of the latter, you will arrive on a threshing floor, overlooking the Cagne. The view of the Baou Saint-Jeannet is magnificent.

To find the village, retrace your steps to the barn and the trail begins the descent of the Castellet and the valley that bypasses the base of Baou (B7A). Here you are aux Sources, instead of climbing.

The path goes up to the Notre-Dame des Champs (B8) and leads to the village.
